A good displayable pair of RAF 1941 Pattern Boots in a small but mannequin suited size 7.
Constructed with a brown sued sheepskin lined shoe and upper all in very good condition, the shoe is formed as a galosh type with a wide rubber coating meeting the sole to prevent the shoes from becoming soaked before departure and subsequently freezing at altitude. The rubber coating shows some loss and cracking.
The soles are in very good condition and appear to be original to the Boots, these being by Redfern, a UK company established in 1900. The heals however are replacements.
Both leather straps and buckles are in place and in very good condition as are the full length Lightning zips which work perfectly.
Inside, the sheepskin is clean and without loss, the insoles however being later added.
