A privately purchased Royal Flying Corps Field Service Officer’s Cap constructed in a Khaki whipcord material with a bronze cap badge with posts and pin.
The Cap has side flaps held in the up position with a hook and cotton loop at each side and is secured at the front with two RFC buttons by Gaunt. An additional hook remains in place at left and right lower edges for the attachment of a chinstrap when used
The cloth shows service use but is not worn. There is one moth hole on the left flap and a very small nip towards the front of the same flap.
Inside, the lining is quilted with wear along the lower edges and there is a partially discernible maker’s mark
