The Gallipoli Star of the Ottoman Empire was instituted by the Sultan Mehmed Reshad V on the 1st March 1915 for gallantry in battle.
Constructed in brass and then nickel plated the star has fields of red enamel, the central design supported by a crescent moon. Also awarded to German recipients, the maker’s stampings of BB &Co denoting German manufacture.
Slightly vaulted and with a pin back, the Star is in very good condition and completely without damage
