An excellent and of course totally original pair of WW2 Air Transport Auxiliary Pilot’s Wings.
Constructed in an embroidered golden bullion, the centre padded with the ATA lettering embroidered on a raised brushed cotton background the wings with the classic 10 feathers.
Although these came with the previous attributed lot, I have no way of telling if they did indeed belonged to the same man.
Uniform removed they are in very good condition. Note the lack of beading along the top of the feathers, a feature of original wings and not to be confused with the huge amount of 1980’s copies which are slimmer in design and have beading along the top of the wings.
