A very scarce and well matched pair of WWI Royal Naval Air Service Attached Officer’s RNAS “A” cuff wings.
Not to be confused with the smaller wings worn on the shoulder boards, these measure approximately 55mm in length and are complete with the backing plate, two threaded fixing post and circular nuts.
Constructed in a die cast metal with a heavy gilt finish both are in excellent condition.
Introduced in June 1917 these short lived insignia were discontinued upon the creation of the RAF on the 1st April 1918.
