Model 1886 French Lebel rifle bayonet used in WW1 by the French army.
This is the 1st pattern where the blade comes through the white metal hilt and is then riveted.
The hilt is in white metal with a forward swept quillon, the quillon stamped 48963
The cruciform blade is full length at 52cms.
Overall condition is very good with a nice patina and light surface rust to the blade, the release button working well but there is no scabbard.
