A good example of an Artillery Officer’s Peaked (Visor) Cap in the early Tellerform (circular or saucer) shape.
Constructed in a fine Doe Skin wool the cap is piped in the red branch of service waffenfarbe with the eagle and cockade in aluminium. The chinstrap is in a bright aluminium wire secured at each side with a single pebbled silvered button.
The peak (or visor) is of black Vulcanfibre with raised ridge and without a textured underside.
Inside, the leather sweatband is in grey with the rayon lining being a faded gold. There is no sweat shield remaining.
Overall condition is very good with some minor moth trails to the brim and three very small and inconspicuous moth nips elsewhere.
