A good service used example of an other ranks Private Purchase Peaked or Visor Cap to a soldier in 111 /Flak Regiment 29.
Constructed in a fine ribbed wool, the brim with two small areas of moth damage at the edges which I have tried to show in the pictures. Dividing the brim, hat band and lower edge of the hat band is the red waffenfarbe piping of a Flak Regiment.
The insignia is in good condition, the leg of the eagle bent slightly forward. Above the green backed visor or peak is the black leather chinstrap, in very good condition.
Inside, the Cap is lined in a golden coloured cotton, slightly detached towards the front and with the sweat shield cracked partially obscuring the maker details. The leather sweatband is in poor condition, detached in places and with splits.
Despite the drawbacks the cap displays well.
A little research shows that 111/Flak Regiment 29 was a Searchlight company.
