WW2 period Royal Navy Commanders Peaked Cap by Gieves of London, complete with bullion cap badge to the mohair band and detachable white temperate climate and summer ribbed white cotton cover.
The peak is decorated with a single row of bullion oak leaves appropriate to the ranks of Commodore, Captain and Commander.
Interior retains the original sweatband and makers label to the lining, size 6 ¾.
The blue wool material is without moth damage as is the mohair hatband. There is toning to the gold bullion and the chinstrap has pulled through from the button on the right side but remains nicely in place when on display. The Cap has become somewhat flattened at the back from storage.
