An original copy of the September 1945 publication by the Historical Division of the (US) War Department, “Omaha Beachhead,” is the seventh of a series called American Forces In Action, a number of narratives dealing with U. S. military operations in France.

Utah Beach to Cherbourg was published later and will round out the account of the invasion at corps level and below, an original copy of which I will be listing soon.

Larger phases of the NEPTUNE operation, including high-level planning, naval operations, and the action of British units, are treated here only in outline. “Omaha Beachhead” was prepared in the field by the 2d Information and Historical Service, attached to First Army, and by the Historical Section, European Theatre of Operations.

Published in softback with 165 pages, profusely illustrated with period images and maps and with 16-fold out maps attached at the inside back cover.

Essential reading on the subject this example is in very good condition and appears complete.
