An excellent Kriegsmarine "Colani" (Reefer) tunic for an "Oberleutnant zur See".
Tailored in a fine quality navy blue ribbed wool, the Tunic is closed by four pairs of gilt buttons with a pair of unbuttoned buttons above, the first buttonhole with a ribbon for the Iron Cross second class.
On the right breast is a hand embroidered and hand applied Eagle and Swastika in a golden tread, the features picked out with a contrasting Celleon thread.
Two gold tress rings to the sleeves indicate his "Oberleutnant" rank and are in the standard German pattern 1.6cms wide, a single star above showing his sea service.
Lapels are of the lay flat style, each with a buttonhole.
On the left side are two pairs of loops for awards whilst the left breast open pocket has another pair of loops for a medal bar. There are two flapped hip pockets.
Inside, the lining is in black rayon with two open pockets whilst the sleeves are lined with a striped tailor’s cloth.
Overall condition is very good with absolutely no moth or other damage.
