Luftwaffe NCO's Peaked or Visor Cap - Flying Branch 1936

Luftwaffe NCO's Peaked or Visor Cap - Flying Branch 1936

Code: 56623

SOLD

A very good 1936 dated Luftwaffe  NCO’s peaked or visor Cap to a member of the flying branch.

The Cap is constructed in a typical field grade blue grey wool, piped with the yellow waffenfarbe of the flying branch, the cloth with some moth damage beneath the brim on each side and at the back. The side damage is only visible when lifting the brim whilst the moth nip at the back is very small.

The eagle is the second pattern in zinc, the winged cockade also zinc. The visor or peak is leather, the reverse in green in accordance with the change which took place in 1936.

Inside, the sweatband is very good, the golden rayon lining without damage. The diamond shaped sweat shield has minor loss, the date, manufacturer’s details and size 56 still clear.

A lovely Saddle Shaped Cap absolutely synonymous with those in use in the early part of the war and of course, the Battle of Britain.
