German Infantry Officer's Tropical Blouse

German Infantry Officer's Tropical Blouse

Code: 56094

SOLD

A good service used example of the Tropical Field Blouse constructed in a khaki/olive, cotton twill.

The Blouse has two patch breast pockets and two lower pockets, all with rayon backed flaps and closed with grey pebbled buttons. Closure to the Tunic itself is by six identical buttons allowing the Blouse to be closed to the neck and secured with a hook and eye. All buttons are held in place with later ring clips.

Above the right breast pocket is the hand applied silver wire eagle of an officer, each shoulder with the stitched in shoulder straps of a Hauptmann in the infantry and the lay down collar with officer’s collar tabs with the mouse grey centre strips to the Litzen. This Blouse was most probably field supplied with other ranks insignia and upgraded to an officer in the field although the eagle may have been re applied.

Each cuff has an opening with composite buttons to allow for the sleeves to be rolled up.

Inside, the Blouse is part lined with rayon, there is a dressings pocket and the strips for fitting the belt support hooks are in place. There is no evidence remaining of the stores stampings.

Overall appearance is very good. There is a small matching patch just above the lower left pocket, one on the back just below the collar and a more significant patch just below the elbow on the left sleeve
