A rather scarce item, particularly with the wooden storage box, is the portable oxygen set used by aircrew when moving around the aircraft at altitude.
Clearly used during the post war years and repainted, the 87 litre cylinder provided sufficient oxygen for about ten minutes use displayed by an indicating gauge at the top. Test dates are shown up until the 1970s.
A connection point for the Mk111b connector is in position alongside the gauge, allowing an adapter tube to be used with all masks from the E onwards.
I can find no date anywhere so there is the possibility that this may be of early post war manufacture but if so, I can find no visual difference.
The reducing valve cover is marked 6d/227 with an arrow, the brass fitting at the neck, 6D/3008 Mk1XC with an arrow, and the carry clip 6D/1280 with an arrow.
The wooden storage box is in good condition, well marked and AM stamped.
