Amongst the hardest to find and one of the most sought after equipment pieces of WW1 are the elusive ‘B series’  boots which were introduced from 1915 onwards by the Army during The Great War. The boots shown are the B5’s, the classic pattern for British and Commonwealth troops in WW1.

B5 boots come in a number of variations, however the examples here being made in reversed leather with a rear tab, are the most typical version of the pattern.

Constructed in the sought after brown reversed leather, this 1917 dated pair are in original untouched condition with I believe the original leather laces.

The insoles are clearly marked and dated, the upper ankle bearing the WD arrow mark however this is now very faint. The soles are original with all the appropriate studs and heal plates in place.

Overall condition is very good. They display light service wear, the leather firm as it should be, all stitching intact and no obvious damage.

A very rare survivor.
