A very nice example of a scarce RAF F Type Helmet, the forerunner of course of the better known and modified G Type Helmet.
The F Type represented a huge step forward in comfort and was the first to feature the new NATO plug for use in ejector seats. It was intended for wear as a liner for the Mk1 Helmet or without the Mk1 helmet by crews on some multi crew aircraft.
This size 3 example is in very good condition but missing the upper press fastener on the left side. These are readily obtainable and easy to fit. The large ear pads are in place and retain their original bright colour. The receivers and cord are present as is the chinstrap.
