An excellent pair of Zeiss 7x50 U Boat Binoculars with serial number 40218 being one of a batch produced for the U Boat service between 1943-45.
These feature the rough green Rauhlack exterior coating which, unusually is in very good condition and perhaps the best I have encountered.
The rubber armour around the objective lenses and shoulder plates is excellent and these are original to the Binoculars. Although I have not photographed the markings on the right shoulder plate these are 7x50 blc and 40218
Optically they are free from damage but cloudy and hazy and would be enhanced by cleaning. The blue lens coating is intact, and the neck strap is in very good supple condition.
Overall, an outstanding example, well worth cleaning.
