A near excellent example of an early Iron Cross First Class by the maker B.H. Mayer.
Complete with its original presentation case, the Cross retains virtually all the original frosting, the iron core without loss to the black finish.
To the reverse the early style pin is clearly stamped 26, the PKZ number for this maker.
The case is also in very good condition with minor rubbing only to the edges and with the Iron Cross symbol clearly defined on the lid. The release catch is correct for the maker with a rectangular button, the spring working well.
