Dutch Made German NCO's Tunic. Artillery Regiment 84

A very good example of an M36 Pattern Heer Tunic, made in occupied Holland and worn by an Obberfeldwebel in Artillery Regiment 84.

Using the slightly different shade of cloth available at the time in Holland, the Tunic has four flapped and pleated pockets closed by a grey painted button matching the five button front closure, the olive green collar secured by two hooks and eyes, the collar itself with the litzen of the artillery, the edges piped with the Tresse of an NCO . Both sleeves are closed at the cuff by a single button.

On the left sleeve is the “Blitz”, lightning badge of signal personnel while the right sleeve has the career badge of an NCO Artificier (Feuerwerker) with a Gothic F in a golden thread, the badge bordered with a silver wire twist. At each shoulder are the slip on shoulder straps an Oberfeldwebel in Artillery Regiment 84.

Above the left pocket are loops for a single medal bar, the pleat of the same pocket with loops for two awards. The second front closure buttonhole has a ribbon for the Iron Cross Second Class. Note the breast eagle has been removed.

Inside, the Tunic is lined with a heavy grey lining typical of Dutch produced clothing, with one dressings pocket on the lower right side. The manufacture’s stamp Konersmann sits above the size markings with A41, 41 being the date and I assume A refers to an Amsterdam depot.

Overall condition is very good with  no moth or other damage. Chest size is 90cms (36”)
