A beautiful example of a Knights Cross of the iron cross by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid.

Produced late in the war and known to collectors as an S&L B Type (a reference to the frame) 935 -4, the Cross with a 935 silver frame and iron magnetic core.

The frame carries the incuse markings 935 and 4 (S&L PK code) whilst the suspension loop has the 800 silver mark.

The core is without loss to its painted finish and 325mm section of ribbon accompanies the Cross.

Overall condition can be described as excellent with absolutely no damage, Cross and loop weighing 30.28 grams.

This is one of the sets taken from "Schloss Klessheim" when American soldiers of the 3rd. infantry division entered the castle near Salzburg in the closing days of the Second World War and came across a cornucopia of Third Reich orders, medals, and decorations.

The Cross will be accompanied by a post war case for display purposes.
