A very rare embroidered Russian Liberation Army Arm Shield from a collection in France, the POA having seen action not only on the Eastern front but also in France, where this was collected, Italy and indeed the Channel Islands.
Featuring the Russian Cross of St. Andrews machine embroidered on a cotton backing and surmounted by the letters POA in a golden thread.
Usually encountered in a printed version this example is in very good uniform removed condition.
Formed by the former Soviet General Andrey Andreyvich Vlasov, this force included navy and air force elements and numbered up to 800,000 men at its height, and uniquely among collaborationist forces did not adopt anti-Semitism in its manifesto.
