A Party Menu for members of Popski’s Private Army held on 28th July 1945 in Rosegg Southern Austria as a belated VE Day celebration.
Measuring 180mm x 125mm unopened the card cover bears the wording “Popski’s Private Army” above the image of their Cap Badge, below which is the original autograph of Popski himself, Lieutenant-Colonel Vladimir Peniakoff DSO MC , commander of No 1 Demolition Squad.
Inside, are a list of battle honours alongside which are details of the venue accompanied by 10 autographs of no doubt current members of the P.P.A., the back cover bearing another 15 signatures all needing further research.
Overall condition is very good.
Following their distinguished service in North Africa the P.P.A. served in Italy and then in Southern Austria following the end of the European war where they served to prevent the infiltration of Tito’s communist guerrillas.
