A pre 1922 Service Dress Cap badged to an Officer in the 13th Hussars which, in that year merged with the 18th Hussars, changing their cap badges accordingly.
Made by Bates the Cap itself is possibly later than the badge and is in good condition with some minor mothing and degradation to the celluloid protector. In addition, the Cap badge is without it’s sprung fixing pin and is held in place by wooden pegs.
What makes this item special is the early bronze and white metal Cap badge in use I believe from c1910 and the matching flat brass chinstrap buttons. Both are rare.
