A near excellent example of a scarce Luftwaffe officer’s 1939 dated Blue-mingled Shirt, the Blaumeliertes Hemd.
Made in a mixture of blue and black cotton the shirt is of the “pullover” type in a full cut with long tail. The collar is detachable and of the same material. The front is closed by three buttons and a collar stud which is included but is a modern stud, added for completeness. At the base of the opening is a faded but readable LBA 39 stamp.
Each sleeve has a single cuff closed with two buttons, three of which are missing. The Shirt is pleated at the back.
Overall condition is excellent. There are no stains or damage that I can find other than a small pull to the material beneath the last closure button.
Greatly enhanced by a date which makes it perfect for any display from the Battle of France and Britain to the end of the war, I believe it would be very difficult to upgrade.
