A 1939 Dated Luftwaffe Oxygen Bottle in very good, perhaps repainted condition, having been released from stores by one of the UK’s most prominent aviation museums.
Approximately 430 mm in length the bottle is impressed “SAUERSTROFF LEER 2.14 KG FULL 150 ATU 21.12.39” to one side, the other side, 215548 LUFTWAFFE PR225 ATU 2.01 LTR” The empty weight is approximately 2.250 Kgs.
I haven’t yet been able to establish which aircraft these were used in, most being of the spherical type, at least later in the war but the schematic I have attached would appear to show them in the Me109.
