Amongst the nicest example I’ve seen these RAF Mk111a Goggles were originally part of my own collection.
Dated 1939 and so synonymous with the battle of Britain, overall condition is very good +
The general appearance is excellent, the springs are perfect as is the strap with all stampings clear. The frames are every bit as pleasing with the often damaged trumpet vents and stops intact.
As with every pair I have ever seen the rubber padding inside the vervet sleeves has hardened. The left lens has taken on a shimmering effect with age. This is not noticeable on display but would be to look through.
I believe it would be difficult to upgrade this example.
