A fine example of a private purchase Peaked or Visor Cap (Schirmmütze) as worn by Enlisted men or NCO’s and made by Pekuro (Peter Kupper)

Constructed with a high quality field-grey wool body and crown and a blue/green cloth centre band with red wool waffenfarbe for the artillery to the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the centre band.

The insignia is  Tombak with a second pattern national eagle and three part cockade.

The blackened patent leather chinstrap is intact with two black painted rectangular sheet metal retaining clips and two black painted sliding length adjustment buckles. The chinstrap is secured to the cap by two small smooth finish black painted magnetic sheet metal buttons.

The vulcanfibre visor or peak is firmly attached.

The interior of the cap is fully lined in gold rayon and has its original celluloid sweat diamond intact. The leather sweatband is complete with one split and loss of stitching at the brow only. Other than that there is absolutely no moth or other damage to the Cap
