A very nice example of an early Double Decal Heer M35 Helmet.
The shell is without damage and retains virtually all of it’s factory paint finish. The Eagle decal has toned to an almost golden colour and has about a 30% loss. The national colours, about a 20% loss. Both decals have a slight age related crazing but remain very good.
Inside, paint has obscured the size and maker’s mark, but this helmet is I feel certain a size 64. The liner band is dated 1939 and again reflects a size 64 . It shows no sign of ever having been removed or interfered with but the leather shows wear particularly at the brow and the drawstring is not original.
The chinstrap has clearly been added by an earlier owner in the interest of completeness and appearance, but this is a modern reproduction and no account of it has been taken in the pricing.
