Code: 58441
A nice and really rather scarce example of a Hitler Youth Dagger by Carl Wüsthof, bearing an early maker mark without an RZM code, considered uncommon to rare by collectors.
An early piece, dating I believe from between 1933-36, the dagger is complete with its scabbard and leather belt hanger.
Never cleaned or molested in any way, the hilt is nickel plated with surface rust patches in places. The black checkered grips are without damage, the Hitler Youth emblem also without damage and with the fish scale pattern prominent in the red sections.
Below the cross guard, the leather buffer pad remains in place on the early thinner blade without ricasso, the blade completely free from damage and never sharpened, but with the moto now faded.
The scabbard is in very good condition and features a single draw spring synonymous with the early examples. The brown leather belt hanger and retaining strap remain strong, the reverse of the strap stamped with the logo of the maker Lederwerk Finkenwalde Sedina, the letters LFS over an oakleaf.
