A German M16 Helmet complete with its original and seldom found leather chinstrap.
The shell retains a good degree of the original factory paint, shows no signs of having been oiled or waxed and is without damage.
Inside, the shell is stamped BF64 at the flare whilst the dome is stamped R306. The leather liner band synonymous with the M16 is firmly in place, the split pins never disturbed. Of the liner itself, two of the leather pads are intact, one retaining its cushion in the inside pocket, the third has been pulled through at both tongue eyelets but again retains its cushion.
The chinstrap is rather fragile and has been reinforced along its full length with the addition of a thin leather strip which holds it intact.
