Perhaps the least seen of the wartime “Blood Chits” are those intended for use by aircrews during the short lived Operation Frantic, the shuttle bombing missions into Germany, in and out of Ukraine from bases in Italy and the United Kingdom, 1944.
Double sided and printed on rayon, this is the American version showing the US flag and “please communicate my particulars to American Military Misson Moscow” in both Cyrillic (Russian) and English script on one side, the reverse with an identical but smaller version along with instructions for use.
Measuring 240mm x 190mm this example is in very good condition and appears to have been framed at some time with two small marks at the top and bottom of the central crease where tape had been attached to hold it in place in the frame.
