Become increasingly difficult to find good original and unmolested German Helmet this Single Decal Heer M40 certainly fulfills all expectations.
An ET66 with a lot number of 5178 the Helmet is thought to have been produced between September 1941 and August 1942.
The shell retains virtually all of it’s factory applied field grey paint with just a slight peppering of fine pit marks without rust. The Single Decal is 95% complete with minor loss to the arms of the Swastika which show well in the images.
Inside, the liner band fits snugly to the shell. The leather remains supple with one of the tongues pulled through at the tip by the drawstring which itself is partially intact. The chinstrap is supple and without damage and clearly dated 1940.
A very nice example in a good size.
