Now collectable in their own rights, this is an early POST WW11 example of the German Cross in Gold produced by the Austrian maker Souval who continued manufacture to meet the demands of the souvenir hungry occupying allied forces.
In very good condition with age toning only and free from damage this example is virtually indistinguishable from the wartime produced pieces but lacks the rivets used in the multi piece construction.
An excellent and acceptable alternative at a fraction of the price of a wartime piece and far superior to modern copies.
