A field repainted German M35 army Helmet in a small size 60 with damaged liner.
The shell is in very good condition with the brush applied granulated field grey paint almost completely intact. Close inspection also reveals what is perhaps a previous white snow painted camouflage.
On the left side the paint has come away slightly revealing an army decal. On the right side the ghost of the ghost of the tricolour decal is discernible beneath the paint.
Inside, the liner band is an early non-reinforced example without the usual break. The liner tongues are damaged and sadly I have to say this kind of damage is usually associated with the effects of blood.
The chinstrap is correct for the Helmet but has been shortened to accommodate the smaller head size of the wearer.
