A particularly nice, lightly service used example of an Infantry Officer’s Visor (or Peaked ) Double ErEl Cap by the preferred maker, Robert Lubstein Militärmützenfabrik.
Privately purchased and sold as a Sonderklasse Extra, the Cap was produced in the finest quality Doeskin wool with an olive green hat band.
Completely free from moth or other damage, the top and sides are piped with the white waffenfarbe of the infantry, both the cockade an eagle hand embroidered with silver wire, the roundel of the non ventilated type.
A single pebbled button at each side holds the officer’s chinstrap which rests on the peak of Vukanfibre.
Inside, the leather sweatband is in very good condition and display clearly the maker’s name and “Stirnschute” indicating the ventilated brow portion.
The lining is in golden silk, the maker’s details again visible under the diamond shaped sweat shield.
Overall a lovely example.
