Kriegsmarine NCO's Peaked or Visor Cap

Kriegsmarine NCO's Peaked or Visor Cap

Code: 55747

SOLD

A very good and lightly used example of a Kriegsmarine Senior NCO’s peaked or Visor cap, made by Willy Sprengfeil in a good size 59 and dated 1940.

Constructed in a high quality smooth Doeskin there is absolutely no sign of moth or other damage to the cloth. The hatband is the traditional horizontally ribbed mohair with a hand embroidered and hand applied oakleaves and cockade badge in gold bullion wire above which is the eagle and Swastika, also hand embroidered in bullion wire. Both are slightly toned.

The chinstrap is patent leather secured at each side by a fire gilded Kriegsmarine anchor button. The peak or visor is in vulkanfibre trimmed with an edging held in place with a double row of machine stitching.

Inside, there are very little signs of wear, the imitation leather sweatband is without damage and with all stitching intact, the black rayon lining clean.

A very nice example.
