Kriegsmarine Officer's Tunic and Trousers

Kriegsmarine Officer's Tunic and Trousers

Code: 56815

RESERVED

A privately purchased Tunic and Trousers to a Kapitänleutnant in the Kriegsmarine the Tunic made in an usually pronounced ribbed wool by a Kiel tailor.

The Tunic follows the correct uniform prescribed Reefer pattern and is closed by two rows of four fire gilded buttons, a fifth ornamental pair without buttonholes, sitting above them.

There are two lower flapped pockets with an open pocket on the left breast. On the right breast is a hand applied bullion Eagle and Swastika. There are numerous award loops

Each sleeve shows the rank stripes of a Kapitänleutnant in Celleon braid with the gold bullion star of a sea serving officer above.

Inside, the lining is imitation silk with two pockets one of which retains the 1939 dated tailor’s label. Chest size is approximately 40” and overall condition is excellent with no moth holes that I could find and no obvious wear.

The Trousers are in a different non ribbed Melton wool and have clearly seen more use that the Tunic. Condition is fair to good only with a number of moth holes mostly patch repaired .
