An excellent and very scarce example of Kriegsmarine officer’s double sided Car Pennant in the 1936 -45 pattern most usually contained in a wire framed celluloid cover trimmed with a golden cloth with circular post mounting wire loops.
Measuring roughly 32cms by 22cms and constructed in a vertically ribbed navy blue cotton and rayon mix, both sides with the Kriegsmarine eagle executed in golden yellow chain stitched thread with brown thread accent.
Overall condition is excellent. There is no damage to the celluloid or any other elements of the pennant.
Whilst these appealing Pennants do appear, this is the first I have ever seen in a maker applied foul weather cover, the distorted shape of the Swastika absolutely typical.
