Late War RAF Irvin Jacket

Late War RAF Irvin Jacket

Code: 56070

SOLD

A particularly nice example of a late war produced RAF “Irvin” Jacket in a good medium size.

Free from damage with no splits, patches or loose stitching the jacket is one of those produced using the panels from the then decommissioned “Irvin” trousers, the stitch holes obvious in this case on the inner wind flap under the main zip.

All zips are original to the Jacket, the runners a mix of A.M and DOT and all operate perfectly with the leather pulls still in place.

The fur is very good with none of the usual wear to the cuffs or skirt. The belt is in place but there is no neck hanger or label and no elastic strap under the collar, this having been dispensed with by this stage of the war.

External chest measurement is about 43” so a comfortable fit for a 38” chest or perhaps a 40” without heavy underclothing.

Difficult now to find and example in such good condition and size.
