A small collection of letters sent to Brigadier, later Major General A.K. Hay, the most significant being a personal handwritten letter from and signed by (Bernard) Montgomery of Alamein.
Dated 22.3.46 and accompanied by the hand written stamped and address envelope, he commiserates with Hay over his asthma.
The second letter is from the War Office dated 10th April 1935 and is again of a personal nature and with an indiscernible signature.
Finally, a letter in reply to a request by Hay, from Field Marshal Jan Smutts ( later Prime Minister of South Africa) dated 30th September 1918.
All in very good condition
