A very nice example of a Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge in nickel silvered Tombak by the preferred maker C.E. Juncker.
Generally referred to in the world of collectors as a J3 this badge was once in my own collection and is complete with its original case.
The Badge is without damage and shows just the right amount of service use with very little wear to the high points. The fixing pin, hinge and catch are very good with the rivets attaching the eagle to the wreath secure. The reverse of the eagle clearly displays the maker’s stamps, CE. Juncker , Berlin SW.
The case is no less pleasing, completely without damage and with its velvet and I believe blue silk lining. The closure catch works perfectly, the gold block lettering Flugzeugführer-Abzeichen, slightly faded.
