From an Italian collection this extremely rare Mk11 British Helmet has clearly seen extensive service use by a Medic.
Complete with it’s original helmet net underneath which a field dressings pack has been stored and most importantly the remains of Medic’s brassard, cut down and attached to the net with stitches, a safety pin holding it again where the stitching became undone. Very little remains of the red cross, but the outline of the missing sections are clear.
The shell is without damage, but surface rust is evident over the rough khaki coloured paint.
Inside, both liner and chinstrap are in good condition, the stamped fibre band showing 6 ½ BMB and 1939
A very rare Helmet
