An original Ink Signature of Grand Admiral Karl Donitz, last Fuhrer of the Third Reich, on a Document promoting Kapitan zur See, Max Adam (Ing.) Dipl.Ing to the rank of Konteradmiral and dated 18 January 1943.
The Signature is in ink and although fully visible it has faded somewhat, the result of a liquid stain to the folder which has penetrated through to the Document.
The folder is of thick vellum with the Golden Eagle of Sovereignty prominent on the front cover.
Measuring 355mm x 255mm both Document and folder are in good condition, the folder with overall creasing, the retaining cord broken and with a split and small cut at the fold rising approximately 3cm from the bottom edge. The stain affects the left lower quarter of both Document and folder.
Donitz’ original signature is accompanied by a facsimile Hitler signature and large Eagle and Swastika document stamp.
