A rare and superbly refurbished pair of RAF Mk1V Goggles, not to be confused with the later Mk1Vb Googles, the Mk1V’s distinguished primarily by the hinged and opening side lenses.
Produced by Levers with the stores reference 22c/111, these have been professionally restored, no doubt by Steve Silburn, to a virtually as new appearance.
Restoration has included a flawless spray repaint and replacement of the always degraded rubber pads, with modern reproductions.
The lenses have slight delamination but are very good. The nose piece, side loops strap and springs are excellent, and appear to be original. Markings on the strap are only just discernible and show the reference number 22c/111.
A rare pair of Goggles, now in excellent condition
