An excellent unissued and unworn pair of RAF Mosquito boots as issued during World War II for personnel serving in tropical and desert climates, such as North Africa and Burma. Originally intended for Army ground troops, they became popular with RAF aircrews because they lacked the heavy sheepskin lining of standard flying boots, which made them cooler and more comfortable in high temperatures.
A good UK size 9, and I believe possibly made in India, they have a black leather pebbled shoe section with a leather sole and pale green canvas upper.
A heavy cotton tape if fitted at the ankle to prevent the ingress of dust or insects into the shoe section.
