A very good example of a 1943 dated M41Tropical Cap manufactured by the Munich Based Company, Bayerische Mutzen Fabrick in a small size 54.
Constructed in the early stiff olive coloured ribbed cotton which allows these caps to stand upright when not in wear, the cap is without damage and shows only the slightest indication of have been used.
Dated just in time to perhaps having seen service in North Africa prior to the demise of the Afrika Korps during 1943, it features a pair of zinc vents to each side, a red cotton lining and cotton covered oil cloth sweatband.
The BeVo weave eagle is correctly applied, the upper edge machine stitched into place while upside down before being flipped over and finished by hand. The rosette is again machine applied but appears to have been positioned by hand before being machine finished.
It would be difficult to upgrade this excellent example
