A good service used example of a British WW1 Wool Trench Cap for enlisted ranks.
Constructed in Khaki Serge with a pair of brass ventilation eyelets to each side the Cap has a typical narrow leather chinstrap secured at each side by a single gilded brass button.
There is no Cap badge but clear evidence of it former existence remains.
Inside, the lining is part cotton and part oil cloth, the oil skin missing from the crown perhaps to improve its comfort. The crown is marked in pencil with the size 7 1/8 and the flannel sweatband is in keeping with 1916 manufacture.
Overall condition is good with 4 moth holes to the brim and one very small hole at the side.
