WW1 German Ammunition Pouches Dated 1915 - Matching Pair
A very good colour and fittings matched pair of WW1 German pouches both dated 1915.
Though having different manufactures both pouches are made of exactly the same early tan brown leather and each has steel fittings throughout.
The pouches however not only match each other very well in colour and fittings, they also do so precisely in the level of wear, clearly indicating these have been worn as pair. Securing such a match is not so easy for the collector to achieve when pouches are obtained separately. As such the pouches display unusually well.
Each has strong stitching all over and each has exceptionally strong, flexible, and undamaged closing tabs. The closing tabs on these are the best I have come across.
One pouch has one of its internal separating leather strips missing and both have various issue markings to the internal pouch tops.
A lovely set for display.
