A very appealing, I believe WW1 Flag or Pennant to “X” Company (not 10) of the Highland Light Infantry. During WW1 Companies were usually lettered A to D, W to Z or numbered 1 to 4. So far, I have not been able to establish which Battalion of the HLI had an X company .
Measuring roughly 650mm x 520mm with tartan borders and tartan letters machine applied to a white linen background.
At the hoist end is the linen hoist tape to take a halyard or flagpole.
Overall condition is good with several moth holes which actual add to its historic appeal.
An interesting flag which will display beautifully in a frame.
