Very good WW1 Scottish Tam O Shanter and Hose Tops to the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders).
Issued from 1916 onwards, the Tam-O-Shanter is of the absolutely standard WW1 pattern for enlisted men with all the tell tale signs one wants to see in such an issue, the quilted lining has double rows of stitching, and there are twin sets of double eyelets for adjustment to the rear, these done up with puttee tape.
To the left front the Tam has a red feather hackle inserted instead of a cap badge, this the special regimental designation of the Black Watch.
To the inside the lining bears a good WW1 type War Department inspection stamp reading 62 over W /I D over P, with alongside this the remains of a pink paper size label.
The Tam is in very good service used condition overall with no moth.
The Hose Tops are of the Black Watch regimental pattern showing alternative black and red dicing.
They also are in very good service used condition overall but they do show one or two tiny moth specks.
A nice lot to an elite Scottish regiment.
